Lycoming 24, Lebanon Valley 6
Sep 15, 2002

ANNVILLE, Pa. — Junior receiver Ricky Lannetti caught seven passes, including a 54-yard touchdown catch on the first play of the fourth quarter, for a game-high 173 yards, leading Lycoming to a 24-6 victory against Lebanon Valley in Middle Atlantic Conference action Saturday afternoon at Arnold Field.

Senior running back Jared Morris rushed for a game-high 127 yards on 18 carries and quarterback Phil Mann completed 14-of-21 passes for a game-high 238 yards for Lycoming (2-0, 2-0 MAC).

Junior Pete Henning led the Flying Dutchmen (0-2, 0-1 MAC) with 206 all-purpose yards, including 81 via rushing and 85 in kickoff returns. Junior quarterback Roger Poorman made his first career start in place of the injured Dallas Noll and threw for 108 yards on 10-for-25 passing. Junior tight end Scott Marek hauled in three receptions for 68 yards.

The Warriors took just a 10-0 lead into halftime despite owning a 277-58 advantage in total yards in the first half. Lycoming marched into the red zone on its final two drives of the half but failed to score on both possessions as a result of a missed 25-yard field goal and a turnover on downs at the LVC 3-yard line on the final play of the half.

After Lycoming fumbled seven plays into the opening drive of the second half, the Valley mounted a nine-play, 86-yard drive, capped by a seven-yard touchdown strike from Poorman to sophomore receiver Dave McCullough. Freshman Kevin Keller missed wide right on the extra point.

The touchdown marked the first career TD pass for Poorman and the first career TD reception for McCullough.

Lycoming went three-and-out on its next possession, and LVC took over on the Warrior 46. The Dutchmen advanced 17 yards to the Lycoming 29 before the Warriors stopped the Valley on downs.

Lannetti's touchdown reception put his team ahead 17-6 and completed a seven-play, 71-yard drive.

An LVC fumble at midfield set up Lycoming's final score. On the Valley's second possession of the fourth quarter, senior defensive end Dustin Mace sacked Poorman at the Lycoming 45-yard line and forced a fumble, which was recovered by the Warriors. Four plays later, Morris rushed in from the 7-yard line with 5:42 to set the final score.

The Warriors drove 61 yards on 12 plays on their first possession of the game and took a 7-0 lead on a 5-yard touchdown jaunt by senior running back Jon Neve. Lycoming converted on fourth-and-six from the LVC 28 to keep the drive going.

Kicker Dave Christiansen gave Lycoming a 10-0 lead with a 24-yard field goal with 12:20 left in the first half.

Sophomore linebacker Adam Frantz posted a game-high 12 tackles for the game for the Valley, while junior defensive back Brian Oberdick and senior linebacker Chris Molite recorded 11 and 10 takedowns, respectively.

Freshman linebacker Luke Sterling led Lycoming with nine tackles.

Lycoming gained 477 total yards for the game and had possession of the ball for 37:05. LVC accumulated 188 total yards with just 39 coming on the ground.
